So I hope you had an amazing weekend! I had a great time on Saturday, it was filled with so many blessings! This was Cheryl’s first ladies luncheon and she did an amazing job. She shared why she got involved with Sparkle of Life and she had the ladies laughing. It was another great luncheon! We had 18 ladies and a good time was had by all.
One table started talking about football, you see, Erica is married to a CFL player. For those of you who aren’t familiar with what CFL stands for, it is the Canadian Football League. Connie who is a huge NY Jet fan sat down with Erica, Rose Marie and Tina and of course they started talking football. I was so jealous, I wanted to sit down and join in on the conversation but was unable to! For those of you who know my story, you know I am a huge football fan. I have been following the Miami Dolphins since I was twelve years old! Let’s just say it has been a very long time. Connie asked me if I still had the sports jewelry and I told her yes, so yesterday I pulled it out and pulled the Jet pieces I had designed. I have to admit, I didn’t have a whole lot but I have enough to show her. You see the Jets and Dolphins are a big rivals and that played into what I designed back then. LOL!! I can’t help it but it is the truth….I also pulled some Yankee pieces just to show her. I love these sports pieces because they are so unique and fun.
The food was wonderful too, Barb made the vegetarian lasagna for the group and it was excellent. Cheryl asked her BFF Barb to help her with the food. You see Cheryl would prefer to talk in front of people than cook!! Most people hate the idea of talking in front of a group of people!
I had to leave early since my husband was taking me to a concert that evening. As we were walking into the concert, I hear a woman’s voice say: “Is that Dawn?” I turn around and I see my friend Dolores who I haven’t seen since last year’s Women of Faith conference in October. It was so great to see her and find out that she has been reading my blog!! How cool is that? I can’t wait to have her come to a ladies luncheon! You see, Dolores has been someone who has followed my progression from the sports jewelry to present! Let’s just say it has changed dramatically. She was so excited she was planning on coming to the June 4th luncheon but later realized they will be celebrating her son’s birthday that weekend!
We saw Trevor Morgan, Tenth Avenue North and Third Day! WOW! I love going to Christian concerts they are so uplifting. Trevor Morgan was wonderful, I had never heard him before and he has a great voice! Tenth Avenue North has a special place in my heart, you see they used to perform at my church Crossridge in Parkland about seven years ago. Now they have won a DOVE award and are played a lot on WAY FM. I have to say Third Day ROCKED the house. A lot of people left and they ended up playing for another half hour. So glad we stayed!!!!!
Have a wonderful and blessed day!!!! |
